That I'm writing a story (for instance, say, Hecate's Own) and these other characters from another story *coughNorwegianWoodcough* will NOT shut up, but the minute I put fingers to keys to type out their story they clamp their mouths shut tighter than a nun's legs at an all male revue?
I mean, seriously. I couldn't get them to shut up the whole time I was finishing Zach and Jo. Now I'm having trouble getting them to talk at all. The only one who won't shut up is a secondary character who was supposed to be dead by the end of Chapter One, and who is now a ghost who follows Fen around and generally makes his unlife fun thanks to a funky karmic twist of fate.
I'm starting to wonder if all that green blood is playing with Fen's brain. Or maybe mine. I'm not sure anymore.
Anyway, work progresses sloooooowly on Norwegian Wood. I haven't hit the 10k words mark yet, but I plan on having that happen by the end of the week if not sooner. Even if I have to shove my hand up their butts and move their mouths for them.

Anatomy of a Forum Troll
Good morning everyone, and happy Saturday!
So, yeah, I read on-line comics. What can I say? I'm a geek. Anyway, I was reading my comics and went to GU Comics, one of my favorite gaming comics (I play World of Warcraft and, recently, Dungeons and Dragons Online... see? Geek). Have you ever wondered about the anatomy of the Forum Troll? That elusive creature that pops into the middle of a discussion, wreaks havoc upon the members, and then disappears once more into the shadows, never to be heard from again until someone once again says something they don't like?
Well, Woody answered that question so well I nearly spewed soda all over my Alienware. Take a look if you don't believe me: http://www.gucomics.com/comic/ . (And in case he updates it before you get to it, since I can't seem to get a direct link to the picture, the comic is called "A Very Special GU".)

And It's Off!
Hecate's Own is out of the Meat Grinder and has been sent to my Beta readers! Dusty's already given it a once over, and he liked the core story, so that's good. He had a couple issues he wants to go back and double-check so I expect I'll be getting notes from him this afternoon.
Yes, my husband is one of my Beta readers. I told you guys: he's my hero, my Mr. Happily-Ever-After. (And if my mom is reading this right now, she probably threw up a little in her mouth. She thinks we're still sticky sweet even after almost twenty years together.)
I've begun to work on Norwegian Wood, and it is good. The song that the title came from has kind of stuck in my head every morning for about a week now, letting me know it was time to wrap up Hecate's Own and get on with Fen and Martine. Can you say "vegetarian vampire"?
I knew you could.
So hopefully in about a week or two I'll be turning Zach and Jo in to Liquid Silver Books! And for everyone who have been pining for Ben and Dave of the Poconos Pack: They're on the agenda for right after I finish Norwegian Wood.
I have a plan. Be afraid.
Happy Friday everyone!

Time For The MEAT GRINDER!
Today I finished the rough draft of Hecate's Own! WOOT!
When you look at the word count meter it will tell you I still have roughly 2500 words to go before I hit 60k. Well I can tell you I'm going to break the 60k mark in the Grinder. I already know I need at least two more love scenes. Some questions remain unanswered that really should be in this book. Some questions should be added or deleted for the third book (which is looking more and more like it might be Gareth and Gen rather than Daniel and Kerry). And the final fight scene needs some beefing up.
So yeah, by the time I'm done I'm pretty sure I'll hit around 65k. I'm planning on hitting that mark by Monday, at which point I send this off to the Betas. Think I should warn them?

Slowly But Surely
Hecate's Own is getting done. The rain hit, days worth of it, and damn near knocked me on my ass. I'm over a week behind where I wanted to be this year and I've already adjusted my self-imposed schedule to accommodate the suckiness that has been weather in the Northeast.
Feh, as my friend Bob would say.
I've broken 50k and hope to hit 60k soon. Meat Grinding will then commence, then it's off to the Betas and on with Norwegian Wood!

About Time!
Finally! I got a full day's work done. Almost 4k, and if my hand hadn't started hurting I would have gotten even more done.
There's nothing I hate more than wanting to go go go and my body won't let me. Grr. But I'm finally past the three-quarter mark on Hecate's Own and I'm about to write the big showdown, save-the-day scene, after which there will be food, sex, and more food, knowing Zach. Once that's done, it's time for the Meat Grinder and the Beta Readers while I switch gears and begin serious work on Norwegian Wood.
I keep thinking I'm missing something, though. Something important. Hopefully it will come out in the Meat Grinder and I'll slap myself silly, fix it and move on. If not, my Betas will find it, slap me silly, and I'll fix it and move on.
I haven't gotten the artwork yet on Mating Games, and I'm still waiting for word on Noble Blood, but I knew I would be. Laurie was swamped with Red Hot Fairy Tale submissions, so for everyone who's waiting to hear the fate of Duncan, Jaden and Moira hopefully I'll have word no later than the end of April.
Oh! And if you've emailed me and I haven't responded, please email me again! I've been so caught up I may have missed it. Our oldest graduates grade school this year, we're planning a trip to Disney and I've got RT coming up, so when I'm able to sit at the computer I've been concentrating a lot on that stuff since writing wasn't much of an option the last few weeks.
I know. Bad author. No cookie for me.
P.S. Samhain Publishing is hosting the second annual Sammie Awards at the Samhain Cafe this Sunday! I'll be there if I have to sit Dusty down and make HIM type for me! Hope to see you there!
