Lora Leigh's RAW 2012

I've officially registered for Lora Leigh's RAW 2012 in Pittsburgh, PA. I have it on good authority that the Hallow's Eve graphic should disappear within a day or two, as that's from last year's con. That's how early in the process I registered!

I don't think I'll be in fairy wings, though. Damn it. Think my kids will let me wear them to PTA meetings?
There's a schedule up already, but I'm not certain if it's the permanent one or not. I'll post it once I'm sure, but it looks like a lot of fun.

The convention will be held from Sept. 28 - Sept. 30th. Details can be found on the RAW site.

CONTEST: Enter to Win an ARC of Cynful!

I'm pretty certain I'd planned to start this contest yesterday, but things got away from me. So I'm starting it now.

By: Dana Marie Bell
Type: eBook
Genre: ParanormalShape-shifters
Publisher: Samhain Publishing, Ltd.
Publication Date: 06-19-2012
Length: Novel
ISBN: 978-1-61921-159-9
Series: Halle Shifters

To save the woman he loves, he must push his gifts to the brink.

Halle Shifters, Book 2

Julian DuCharme, a rare Spirit Bear with legendary healing powers, is finally free from the threat of death, finally free to claim his mate—but she’s not having it. While his Bear screams it’s time to mate, the love of his life wants to date.

Holding his Bear in check while convincing her he’s not out to control her won’t be easy. She’s stubborn and a closeted geek—in other words, perfect for him.

Cynthia “Cyn” Reyes, owner of Living Art Tattoos, thinks Julian is the hottest thing on two legs. That doesn’t mean she’s going to roll over for his masculine charm. She watched her mother flounder when her father passed away, and she’s determined to never lose herself to someone else. Not even a man who would jump the moon for her, if she asked that of him.

When the women of Living Art are targeted by a killer, Julian doesn’t think twice about pouring out his last drop of power to keep Cyn safe. But it’s Cyn who’ll give up everything—her independence, even her humanity—to keep a terrifying vision from coming true.

One of his death.

Product Warnings
This novel contains explicit sex, graphic language, a tattooed heroine and the Bear who loves her. Maybe he’ll finally convince her to tattoo him with “Property of Cyn”.

All you have to do to win is go to the Write to Dana page of my website. Enter your name or the nickname you prefer to go by, your email address and your preferred electronic format. Hit Submit, and that's it! You're entered.

Please remember: any entry without all three above (name, email address, ebook format preference) will be automatically discarded. However, if you hit Submit and realize you missed one of the above, please fill out the form again with the correct information, and you'll be entered.

The winner will be announced June 18th. Thank you, and good luck!

P.S.: Cynful is now available for pre-order at the Samhain Store! I'll let you all know when it's up on Amazon and Barnes and Noble, but that will be closer to the release date.

Hecate's Own Cover!

Look what was in my mailbox this morning! Mmm. Zach...

Zachary Beckett has been a screw-up most of his life, but he's finally done something right. He saved his brother's life at great personal cost, and now he's on his way to Cleveland to train as a witch. There he meets Johra Yashodar, a teacher with the belief that Zach is still a screw-up. It isn't long before Zach realizes he's hot for teacher.
Jo has never met someone like Zachary Beckett. His blue eyes haunt her, his body is made for sin and his magic... well. The less said about that the better. He's the worst witch she's ever met, bar none. But Jo is determined to help him, and to do that she'll fight the attraction she feels toward him tooth and nail.
But things aren't always what they seem, and when Zach realizes he's under a hex he comes into his own... as one of Hecate's Own. Chosen by the Goddess Herself to fight evil, it's up to Zach and his brothers to save Jo from a fate worse than death.

The blurb hasn't been edited yet and will probably change, but cover art means the paperwork with the release date shouldn't be far behind. YAY! The second Beckett brother will finally get his story told.

P.S.: For those who have asked me about print releases for the Heart's Desire series (and for Cynful), Samhain's policy is ten to twelve months from the ebook release date for it to go into print, and then only if the book is eligible (i.e., length). For instance, you may never see the True Destiny series in print, but you should see Shadow of the Wolf and Hecate's Own as well as  Cynful, as they meet the length requirement. Once I know for certain, I'll post print dates and it will go up on my Coming Soon page under PRINT.

P.P.S.: I think Dusty wants Zach's jacket.

Busy Busy Busy OW Busy Busy OW Busy

This has already been one heck of a week. Last week, I wound up not doing as much as I would have liked thanks to an arthritis flare-up that's still slowing me down a bit. This week...

This week has been edits, edits, and oh, have some more edits on us.

I feel his pain, but I'm still stealing his IV bag.
The first round of edits on Guardian Angel have come in, and I agree with most of what my Carina editor, Mallory, pointed out. It involves re-writes on the first thirty pages and tightening up some loose odds and ends. They'll probably take a little longer than I'm used to, but she's right on a lot of the stuff she pointed out so I'm biting the bullet and getting it done. The first round of edits are always the roughest, in my opinion, especially the first time you work with a new editor. You dance around each other a little, get a feel for one another, and in the end you hope like hell you're compatible. So far it looks like Mallory and I, like my Samhain editor Tera and I, are going to work together just fine. I even got to discuss a little of what I'd like to see on the cover of Guardian Angeland Mallory liked my ideas.

Speaking of Tera, I also got final line edits on Cynful, which were much easier and only took a couple of hours to complete. Six weeks until it comes out! I can't wait for you to see how Julian and Cyn finally get together. It's a fun romp with some twists and turns that may surprise you.

And for those anxiously waiting for word, I'm not expecting to hear back on The Hob until June something-or-other. If I hear back this month of course I'll let you all know, but it takes roughly eight to twelve weeks for the yea/nay, so be patient. I'll bite off all my fingernails for you, so you can do it vicariously and still have a nice manicure. Deal?

Ooh. Pretty.
