Taking A Short Break

Okay, don't panic. I'm only taking a week off. When your hubby invites you to watch a movie you've been dying to see, or offers you your favorite food, and all you say is "Meh" because that would require, ya know, moving, you're a little burned out.

So I discussed it with him, and at first I didn't want to take any time off at all. I wanted to finish Throne of Oak, seeing as I'm a little over halfway done with it. Then, I thought, would be the best time to take a week to myself, since I haven't done that since... Since...

Um, I think it was before Christmas? Last summer, maybe?

But he had to go and point something out to me, something that changed my mind. If everything is "Meh", won't the story become meh too?

Ugh. I hate it when he's right.

So, other than getting "DEAR GOD GET THESE EDITS IN TO ME NOWNOWNOW!" type stuff, I'm taking the week off. I'm going to read, play video games, watch the Murder/Death/Kill channel until Dusty is thoroughly traumatized, and in general pretend I'm a rutabaga. I'll peek in to Facebook and Twitter, but that's about it.

See you next week!

CONTRACT: The Hob

I know I made this announcement on Twitter and Facebook, but let's make this puppy official:

I've gotten a contract for The Hob, The Gray Court Book 4!

Type: eBook
Genre: Paranormal, Shape-shifters
Publisher: Samhain Publishing, Ltd.
Publication Date: ??
Length: Novel
ISBN: ??
Series: The Gray Court

Robin Goodfellow has met his match.

The Gray Court Book 4

Robin Goodfellow has been sent to Philadelphia to watch over a delegation of Black and White Court fae. The Black Queen has kidnapped one of the White Queen's nephews, and Robin is to ensure that the young Prince safely returns to the bosom of his family. Robin is ready for anything... except meeting his truebond, the very delicious, very human, Michaela.

Michaela Exton has been dreaming about a flame-haired rogue named Robin Goodfellow since she was a little girl, but everyone knows that Puck doesn't really exist. So when she meets a dark-eyed man named Ringo who makes her heart beat faster, she's ready to open herself to him even if he isn't her dream man. But she's closer to Robin than she thinks, for Ringo is Robin in disguise, and he's determined to win her heart no matter what form he wears.

But there's competition for Michaela's love from an unexpected Black Court source. Raven MacSweeney, the Raven Lord, also desires Michaela, and he has a secret that will rock Robin's world to its foundation. Just when he thinks he's got everything back under control, one of the Black Court delegates does the unthinkable, and only Michaela will be able to bring the Hob back from the killing edge...if she's alive to do so.

Warning: This book contains explicit sex, graphic language, Robin Goodfellow and... Really. Do I need to say any more?

The excerpt up on my website will more than likely be edited, but...

ROBIN EFFING GOODFELLOW!

P.S.: And as promised, this is the longest of the Gray Court books, topping 70,000 words.

Hershey Kids

So. The promised pictures of me sobbing over chocolate didn't happen. Mostly because I was too damn busy to take pictures (or have anyone else take pictures).

Most of the trip went something like this:

"Put that down, mister!"
"We are NOT riding the water tube ride."
"No, we aren't."
"No."
"No."
"NO."
"I am not popping wheelies in the parking lot, I don't care how much you beg."
"No, you can't have that, you don't know where it's been."
"GET BACK HERE NOW!"
"What do you mean, you're hungry? We just ate!"
"What do you mean, you don't want dinner? Didn't you just - NO! Don't put that in your mouth - SPIT IT OUT!"
"Dear God, are we done yet?"

Yeah. About those pictures...

I know how he feels...

Visiting Mr. Goodbar

Guess what? Dusty and I are taking the kids to Hershey Park tomorrow. We're going to spend an entire day surrounded by sweaty children and chocolate I can't eat!

Yay.
It's been a couple of years since we've gone, and we're really looking forward to it, especially since we're taking Robert C. Roman and his family with us.

This is the face of a man who came up with an idea for a were-stripper story.
Of course, that means there will be four sweaty kids, two normal adults (relatively speaking-they did marry Bob and I, after all), and two absolute loonies in a twelve passenger van for two hours. Twice, since it's a two hour trip there.

Yup. This looks about right.
The way I figure it, someone is going to get tied up at some point. And not in the fun, smexy way either.

Nice tattoo!
I'll bring back pics to post, but I'm betting all of mine will show me sobbing over bins of chocolate .
