Yes, I AM Insane

Back before Christmas I got an R&R on Beta Testing. Everything Angela said, I totally agreed with, especially after I sat down and re-read it. What I had to decide was, did I want to start rewrites immediately, or finish working on my submision for the Psychic Anthology? The due date on the anthology is January 13th, not a lot of time to make a decision considering it takes me six to eight weeks to write a novella.

Well, I finally decided I wanted to do the rewrite. I love the Pumas a good deal, and I think Becky and Simon deserve their own story. (The other novella, Rosetti's Stone, will get finished at a later date as part of the Gray Court series I want to start.) So I started changing things. And changing things. And changing things.

Today, I deleted the story down to 4k words. I'm revamping almost the whole thing. I have a better handle on how the story should go, but most of what was there isn't going to work. I've saved a good deal of it to a seperate file, and plan on reintroducing some scenes, but I think the new direction will work a lot better than anything else I've come up with in the last two weeks.

So now I know what I'm doing, it shouldn't take nearly so long to get started on it. I'm still waiting to hear on Cat of a Different Color, but I know how busy Angela is (pokepoke) and she doesn't have a lot of time (pokepoke) at the moment. I figure I'll start poking at her for real in about two weeks to see if she's had a chance to look at it yet.
