Insert book here... Yup, the rough draft of The Hob is finally done. I'm exporting it out of WriteWay and into Word for one final read-through before I send it off to my betas. I've got a couple of notes I need to go through, things I'd thought of after finishing a scene but knew I'd have to go through the whole book to fix. Most were already done, so now it's just a little touch-up here and there and then... I get to work on Throne of Oak, book 2 of Maggie's Grove. But not until I get back from the Romantic Times Convention. The writing, she is never-ending. |

Official Cover and Blurb for Cynful
To save the woman he loves, he must push his gifts to the brink.
Halle Shifters, Book 2
Julian DuCharme, a rare Spirit Bear with legendary healing powers, is finally free from the threat of death, finally free to claim his mate—but she’s not having it. While his Bear screams it’s time to mate, the love of his life wants to date.
Holding his Bear in check while convincing her he’s not out to control her won’t be easy. She’s stubborn and a closeted geek—in other words, perfect for him.
Cynthia “Cyn” Reyes, owner of Living Art Tattoos, thinks Julian is the hottest thing on two legs. That doesn’t mean she’s going to roll over for his masculine charm. She watched her mother flounder when her father passed away, and she’s determined to never lose herself to someone else. Not even a man who would jump the moon for her, if she asked that of him.
When the women of Living Art are targeted by a killer, Julian doesn’t think twice about pouring out his last drop of power to keep Cyn safe. But it’s Cyn who’ll give up everything—her independence, even her humanity—to keep a terrifying vision from coming true.
One of his death.
I'll be updating the website tomorrow!

New Contract, and Howl For Me Up on Barnes and Noble
What a month! I've gotten another contract:
Guardian Angel, Book 1 of The Nephilim, will be coming from Carina Press around the end of the year!
And for everyone who has waited patiently, Howl For Me is finally up at Barnes and Noble.
Seth van Licht is a Nephilim, a group of men born of the angels themselves and tasked with bringing down the Shemyaza, supernatural creatures that feed on the souls of mortals. He's been asked to guard the sister of one of his closest human friends, and he's finding it to be no hardship. Abby is everything he's ever wanted in a woman, and the attraction he feels for her is overwhelming. Seth would like to guard her much, much closer... if only she'd let him.
Abby has been burnt by men before. Literally. Scarred inside and out by her former lover, she's finally ready to open up and allow her heart to trust again. When the man she had a crush on in high school makes his interest known, Abby decides to take a chance on Seth, unaware of what he truly is. Seth does his best to get her to open up her heart to him, barely missing it when she steals his own.
When evil stalks her in the night, it's up to Seth to keep Abby safe, even if it means losing her in the process.

When he gets to Norway, though, he discovers the wolf can change into a man…a man so sexy that Jeff is blindsided with lust. And, despite his blood ties to Odin, Fen wants him with equal ferocity.
An attraction to the blood kin of his oldest enemy? Fenris figures he must have been caged far too long. Yet as soon as the magical phrase that frees him leaves Jeff’s lips, Fenris has no choice. He is bound to protect Jeff at all costs, even if it means giving up his hatred of the man who betrayed him—and learning to live with the horrors of toothpaste and the Internet.
Odin isn’t through with him, though. And when he gets his hands on Jeff, Fen calls upon everything within him to fulfill the prophecy... even if it means his own death.
Product Warnings
This book contains explicit male/male sex, graphic language, a redhead with a temper and the ultimate werewolf. Caution, drooling may be an unfortunate side effect.
I know the book isn't up yet on Barnes and Noble, and a lot of people are disappointed by that. There are a couple of options (and I know which one I'd favor, since I've done it myself):
1. Wait until the book comes out at Barnes and Noble, and purchase it via your Nook.
Yup. That'll happen. |
2. Or, if you're like me and have all the patience of a five year old in front of a cookie jar, here's what I do.
a. Purchase the book directly from Samhain. They sell it in .epub, and you can download it to your computer.
b. Next, plug your Nook into your computer, open the folder you downloaded Howl For Me to, and copy the book to your Nook like you would copy any file to any hard drive, by opening up the folders and dragging and dropping. A word of caution, though. Your uploaded library folder will be different from the folder that Barnes and Noble uses. For instance, my color Nook has My Stuff/My Documents/Books for the books I manually upload. Older Nooks might have My Library, or simply My Documents. Putting the file in the Barnes and Noble folder might cause it not to open.
c. When the file transfer is complete, open My Computer on your computer (you'll see all your hard drives, including your Nook). Right click on the Nook drive and select the option that allows you to safely unmount the drive (it might say something like "Safely Remove Hardware" or "Unmount Drive"). Neglecting to do this could cause your Nook or your computer to freeze, so I highly recommend not skipping this step.
d. Unplug your Nook, press the Refresh or Search For New Content button to make the book show up in your library, and enjoy!
It sounds like a lot of work for option 2, but honestly, it takes me maybe ten to fifteen minutes from purchasing the book to unplugging my Nook. I have to do it a lot for the books I don't want to wait for that take a month or two to hit Barnes and Noble.
Remember, if my directions are confusing, Barnes and Noble has a site that will explain how to upload an .epub that you didn't purchase from them to your Nook. The manuals are available for your particular Nook in .pdf format.

A Winner of Howl For Me and Interview on Literal Addiction
First things first. I have a winner to announce! The contest for an early copy of Howl For Me is officially over, and the winner is...
Coming tomorrow! |
LIZ LAW!
Congratulations! Your book is in the e-mail.
I know some of you are biting your fingernails off to know my thoughts on Mass Effect 3 (okay, probably not), but before I post them I want to do one more playthrough that includes the multiplayer feature (I'm waiting on Dusty, who just imported his M!Shep into ME2). I hear it makes a big difference in the end.
So far he's really enjoying it. Can't imagine why. |
So it might be a while before I post something on it. In the meantime, I'll be at Literal Addiction tomorrow in three different spots!
On their blog, their author's corner and their chat. Skull not included. |
The links you'll need for tomorrow if you want another chance to win a copy of Howl For Me are:
The Intro will be at http://www.literaladdiction.com, where you can read about some of my stories.
The Author Q&A will be at http://www.literaladdiction.com/authors-corner.php/ and http://www.bookmonsterreviews.blogspot.com/. I'm pretty sure that's where the actual interview will be, as well as the contest.
The Chat will be at http://www.literaladdiction.com/author-chat.php/. Make sure that your Java is up-to-date (it should prompt you if it's not) and that you can get in. Once you can see the login screen, you just need to enter a User Name and leave the password blank to log in.
I hope to see you there!

NEW CONTRACT!
Cynful, Halle Shifters Book 2, will be coming soon from Samhain Publishing!
Cynful will hopefully be out this summer; more on that once I have official word.
And on that note, have a great weekend, everyone!
Julian DuCharme has known for months who his mate is, and he's finally free to claim his her... and she's not having it. She's asked him to date, when his Bear is screaming at him to mate. Julian will have to convince Cyn that loving him won't destroy the independence she's worked so hard to build, and it won't be easy. She's stubborn and a closeted geek... in other words, perfect for him.
Cynthia "Cyn" Reyes is an independent businesswoman who thinks Jules is the hottest thing on two legs. That doesn't mean she's going to roll over for his masculine charm and boyish ways. That won't happen to Mrs. Reyes's baby girl. She watched her mother flounder when her father passed away, and she's determined that she'll never give her life over to someone else. Julian would fly over the moon if she asked it of him, but all she wants is to be a true partner to her mate. If that means giving up her humanity to become a shifter, so be it.
When the women of Living Art Tattoos are targeted by a killer, it will take all of Julian's power to keep Cyn safe. But what Julian doesn't know is that Cyn will do anything, even give up her independence, to protect Julian from a vision, one that terrifies her.
One of his death.

And on that note, have a great weekend, everyone!

Time to Save the Universe!
Last week I made sure I worked a little extra hard so I could take some time off this week. Why, do you ask?
Mass Effect 3 came out last night, and like the huge geek I am, I had three playthroughs ready to go. One, where I chose not to romance Kaidan or Liara, but totally dug the Drell assassin, Thane; a second where, after my love Kaidan was mean to me on Horizon I chose to get it on with the Drell assassin, Thane; and a third where, despite how douchey Kaidan was on Horizon, I chose to stay true to my love.
For those of you who don't play video games, Howl For Me is available for preorder at Amazon and Samhain (nothing on Barnes and Noble yet, but I'll keep checking). You may now safely ignore the rest of the post. Even the hot, half-naked picture of Kaidan Alenko at the bottom.
For those of you who are, and are into Bioware, I've never romanced Garrus. All my hubby had to do was say, "Damn. Is that a giant cricket?" and my bug phobia took over. As much as Garrus is my bro, and I take him pretty much everywhere, I can't picture getting down and dirty with a giant Jiminy.
Sorry, Garrus lovers. I know he's actually related to dinosaurs or birds or something but... I can't.
So today, my website has been updated to include the buy links for Amazon and Samhain for Howl For Me, and I've written a blog post. After my short morning nap (thanks again for keeping me up last night, Bioware) my FemShep is going to save the universe. Again. And get down and dirty with some Bioware men. Again.
P.S.: For those who want to know, Dusty is finally playing the series, and he chose Ashley over Liara. He said he was curious about Liara until she essentially said, "Hey, I'm roughly seventeen in Asari years. Wanna get it on?" Not being Capt. Kirk, he said no.
It's time for FemShep to kick some Reaper ass. |
What can I say? I have a thing for Bioware assassins. |

Garrus, you're one of my favorite characters, but I still don't wanna tap that. |
I love you, Bioware. |
